Continuing Professional Development

Excellence in education, an important part of the CNSF mission

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an important part of the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation (CNSF) mission to support the neuroscience professions in Canada. The CNSF builds upon excellence in education, to improve the wellbeing of children and adults with diseases, disorders and injuries of the nervous system and the prevention of these conditions.

Continuing professional development is a cornerstone of the success of the individual practitioner, the profession and the CNSF Member Societies. Accordingly, the CNSF's educational efforts must reflect excellence in their quality, relevance and delivery. As an Accredited CPD Provider of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, the CNSF is dedicated to the advancement of the neuroscience professions in Canada.

Accreditation

Accreditation with CNSF

The CNSF is an Accredited CPD Provider of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Activities it accredits count toward Royal College Fellows' Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements.

In order for an activity to be eligible for accreditation, it must be developed by a physician organization and approved by a Royal College accredited CPD provider. Organizations seeking CNSF accreditation must be a physician organization developing an activity eligible for Royal College MOC credit.

Section 1 — Group learning

Conferences, workshops, seminars, rounds, journal clubs, and small group activities. Participants earn MOC Section 1 credits for verified attendance.

The CNSF Annual Congress is itself a Section 1 accredited activity.

Section 3 — Self-assessment and simulation

Self-assessment programs (SAPs) and simulation-based activities. Participants earn MOC Section 3 credits upon completion.

The CNSF iD-AD e-learning program carries Section 3 accreditation (NOR Activity ID: 00017043).
